MIND BODY SPIRIT
Click Happy is the Photographic exploration of the Framework to help students understand the concepts and the continuum of balance, however the HeArtivist content is much richer and deeper that it appears on the surface. It is based on the idea of energy and wellness. We are working with this energy in the form of creativity. But it is the same energy that infuses our bodies and gives us life. In Indian cultures it is called "prana", in many Asian - "Qui" or "chi", in Latin - "spiritu", in Maori - "Mauri".
Our project sits very easily within the wellness frameworks of Whare Tapa Wha Model and Fonofale. But we try to teach with a pragmatic twist showing kids that their energy is vital and important and so it is key they understand the forces that can impact it. Also how our communities, and our families, and our culture can either enrich or drain our Mauri. The draining parts tend to pull us out of balance and to the outer edges of the framework. So our job is to help us figure out the techniques and tools we can use to teach our youth to identify when their energy is being drained and how to ground and return their energy to themselves. It is all about wellness hygiene and we can all stand to learn how to do it better in today's often too busy and draining world.
Our focus on wellness is keeping this lifegiving energy running through us and our creations. We study embodied creativity in the HeArtivists. What steps can we take to bring more Mauri and more balance in our lives and our art.

Volunteering at the End of the Course
Our vision is to first work with a core group of adults who would then form mentoring whanau that would work with a group of children from the area. We have a small grant to work with youth in Newtown but if there is an extra group we could consider other suburbs as well or possibly different days. The whanau would have a leader and several supporters. This is a pay it forward - pro bono situation with the grant funding going to pay for equipment, room hire, photographic printing, and misc.
For those that are interested in working with youth at the end of the course, the best way to get the ball rolling is to do the following.
Download this Police Clearance form.
This is the info sheet for that form
Email the completed form to thetrust@themojolution.org with a photograph of the front and back of your ID as well.
Not interested in working with the kids but still want to help?
